Inspiration

'Was supposed to go riding today, in 77 F (25 C) fog by the Pacific Ocean, but for some strange reason, I was in too dour a mood to leave even for so alluring a ride.

Later, while cleaning my bike, I discovered this:

Hitting that pothole at 46 mph (73.6 km/h) did leave a mark after all. The rim is toast. I guess I should be thankful it didn't fail during the ride. That would have been one expensive cab ride.

So my bum mood is now twice bummed. Great.

Then, I stumbled upon Lee T. Lau 's photo essay,

and Chris Alef's excellent video, "Comfortably Numb to Young Lust," on Comfortably Numb, a 14.4 mile (23 km) trail in Whistler, British Columbia:

I'm infected again :-)
Pine Mountain, here I come.
